There are many ways we can use online chats to enhance language learning and communication skills. I used this instagram post with my senior students at the last 5 minutes of class. I sent it to our skype chat and asked them to respond. Apart from the uplifting message, students learn to use language in a meaningful way, practice online language (which includes emojis and reactions) and feel that the lesson is linked to real life.
